In my role as a retail specialist, I work mainly on fashion, gift and floristry requests. I put together present suggestions and arrange surprises for people on a daily basis. This is perfect for me because I love making people happy, as well as being obsessed with shopping and fashion.
Although I get to shop all day, every day as part of my job, the aspect I enjoy most is knowing I’ve made someone really happy – either locating that hard-to-find designer item, or suggesting just the right gift for them to give to a loved one.
My favourite requests are the ones I look after for members who ask for my help with gifts every time they have a significant occasion. This means I can really get to know members and start to choose the perfect presents for their family and friends in advance of the date.
Before lifestyle concierge I studied Biological Anthropology at Durham University. This might seem a fairly big leap to my current role – but dealing with interesting people every day and using my real passions means this is the ideal job for me.
