It's my personal interest in and knowledge of food that has led me into this profession – I specialise in restaurants, and specifically Italian cuisine, after spending lots of time in the Abruzzo mountains and acquiring an insatiable taste for cured meats.
I regularly eat out in restaurants, and the one I recommend most highly from personal experience is C London (formerly Cipriani) – its tagliolini is amazing, as are the mozzarella balls filled with cream, and the steak is the best dish I've had anywhere. Semplice comes close – its gnocchi with duck ragout is out of this world; but the salted sea bass I tried recently at Il Baretto in Marylebone is on a par.
I speak to my contacts at the best restaurants such as The Fat Duck every day and have strong working relationships with many of London's top Italian eateries.
