I've been organising events for six years since starting to work for an events management company while I was at university and even while studying for a doctorate in nuclear chemistry.
My career so far has involved everything from setting up carol services in a well-known London department store to fire and ice-themed 18th birthday parties and a big-budget awards ceremony for a large corporate. I'm often asked to hire celebrities for the night - anything from flying Derren Brown over to a birthday bash in India to getting music acts such as the Sugababes, Katie Melua and the Bootleg Beatles.
The most challenging request yet has to be for a ‘unique and different' corporate team building get-together, on a very low budget - for this I organised a murder mystery event in the company's office and hired some actors to join in the fun.
