My background was in hotel management and travel, but DIY has been an interest from the time I was young, when I used to help my dad on projects ranging from welding to building and masonry.

More recently, my wife and I decided to move into a new property that was in need of TLC – I’ve stripped the floors, put in a new kitchen and bathrooms, given the garden a makeover, and even carried out some essential roof repairs.

Over the last few years, I’ve worked closely with our preferred designers on a number of interior projects – for me, a highlight of the job – but I also deal with the less glamorous requests such as fixing a broken boiler, leaking roof or blocked toilet.
