Northern Art Prize 2009

North East
  1. Pavel Buchler - Don't Love Me

Celebrating art in the north of England with an exhibition from the art prize shortlisters

Friday 27 November 2009 to Sunday 21 February 2010

Leeds Art Gallery

Professional contemporary visual artists, from all over the north of England, have been nominated to submit work to this contest which seeks to reinforce the north's place on the artistic map.

This year's shortlist: Pavel Bϋchler, who often uses sound art and sculpture; Rachel Goodyear, whose drawings are exquisite yet seemingly devoid of emotion; Matt Stokes, film and installation-maker concerned with musical subcultures; and collaborators Nick Crowe and Ian Rawlinson, who employ video and sculptural work to address questions around faith, politics, national identity and the environment. Their work is on display at Leeds Art Gallery and well worth a visit.

We've been keeping abreast of events in the art world and can readily give you information on art fairs, upcoming exhibitions and sales of work. Give us a call to discuss your tastes and find out how we can help.
