‘You can sleep in September,’ was The Spectator’s advice to anyone attending the largest cultural event in the world. It could have a point, since a menagerie of theatre, opera, music, dance, film, literature, art, politics, spirituality, comedy and children’s shows might well deter you from hitting the sack too much. It all takes place courtesy of more than 20 independent festivals all being held simultaneously, including by far the largest of them all – the Fringe, known for its experimental shows of mainly theatre and comedy, an ongoing street fair on the Royal Mile and former history of run-ins with the original, much more mainstream International Festival. Other events taking place at the same time under the Edinburgh Festival umbrella include the well established Edinburgh Military Tattoo along with lesser known, newer arrivals such as Edinburgh International Book Festival, Edinburgh Interactive Festival, Festival of Politics and more.
If you’d like to be there to witness this mass outbreak of creativity, performance and utter enjoyment, our team can give you details of the line-up when it is released and book you tickets for the shows of your choice. We can also arrange your transport to Edinburgh from wherever you are, find accommodation to meet your needs, and recommend performances we think will best suit your specific tastes.
