What does the retail team do?
We source unusual and last-minute gifts for members who don’t have the time or present-buying prowess to do so themselves. We also make recommendations for any size of budget, deliver a reminder service for important dates so members have time to make a decision, and arrange flowers for any occasion.
What makes the team at lifestyle concierge the specialists?
Everyone in the team is a shopaholic and we spend all day, every day, tracking down items for members at the best price available. We use our huge pool of contacts, which we have built up and refined over the years, to ensure our members receive the best standard of service possible. We keep an eye and an ear out for the latest fashion trends and what piece of jewellery is going to be the next must-have item. All the lifestyle managers in the retail team are incredibly passionate about their work and, when it comes to birthdays and anniversaries, some members have said we’ve saved their marriage.
How can lifestyle concierge help me?
A lot of members use our team to bounce ideas off someone who knows what they’re talking about. We’ll find you last-minute gifts if you completely forget an important date, and use our contacts to track down that ‘impossible to find’ present. I once had a member who had forgotten his uncle’s 50th birthday. He was a former racer so I organised a two-for-one ticket deal for a tour of Silverstone, on the day itself. We’ve arranged a bespoke Monopoly game set for someone’s father who was a property developer, with all the board's squares as different streets he had worked on; and for a member who wanted to buy his brother something he wouldn’t enjoy, we organised a day of sheepdog training. We can suggest unusual alternatives to champagne and flowers for newborn babies and christenings, and help boyfriends and husbands pick out jewellery.
What requests is the team busy with at the moment?
Valentine’s Day – last year saw our busiest to date, which was a huge success. We were ordering flowers right up until 5pm on the day itself – one lifestyle manager even arranged 500 rainbow-dyed roses to be shipped from the Netherlands for one member. Throughout the year, birthdays are what make up the majority of our requests, along with flower deliveries and anniversary gifts.
How do I use lifestyle concierge’s services?
Call one of the team with an idea of budget and a good description of the recipient. It is useful for us to know their hobbies, any unusual characteristics and what has been successful and unsuccessful in the past.
