Head of Motor Jonathan Newall has helped members with everything, from the ordinary to the extraordinary, and in many cases over the years has been more than willing to go that extra mile (pun intended) on behalf of members.
‘Last year was one of the biggest requests I’ve worked on,’ Jonathan comments. ‘I personally delivered a car to a member living in Nairobi. The only problem was that we had to go via Mombassa, which was the nearest available port.’ Another time, when a member was in a car accident, Jonathan was the first person on the scene to assist him. Jonathan arranged for the car to be towed away, free of charge, and booked car hire so the member could go on holiday.
The team can help with buying or selling your vehicle, as well as hiring sports cars, boats and planes on your behalf, but car owners can also use the team for advice and information.
Our reminder service
The Motor team offers members a car reminder service for MOTs and servicing. Someone from the team will get in touch a month in advance to remind you that the date is approaching. To take advantage of this service, give us a call or send us a message with the following details:
- Registration number
- Current mileage
- Annual mileage
- The date your vehicle was last serviced
- Last MOT date (if applicable)
For the colder months
‘You might not be thinking about it at the moment but winter is approaching,’ says motor specialist Matt Lucas. ‘Last year many members were caught out by the bad weather.’ We advise members to consider getting their winter tyres, winter tyre snow socks and snow chains well in advance, as shortages can often occur. ‘It’s also worth booking your vehicle in for a winter check to make sure that it survives the months ahead,’ Matt advises.
