As well as being a financial dynamo, New York hums with creativity, seen through the flourishing of world-class art museums like MoMa and the Met. Restaurants range from great to beyond compare, with stylish venues springing up all the time to keep some of the world's finest chefs on their toes. Shopping is synonymous with New York and, alongside heavyweight favourites like Macy's, cutting-edge boutiques punch far above their weight. Let us know what you are interested in seeing and we will put together bespoke suggestions we know you'll enjoy.

'I've always said that other than London, New York is somewhere I could live. I never fail to get excited as the cab takes me over the bridge and into Manhattan. In several years of working over there for a theatre producer, I obviously spent a lot of time on Broadway and used to pop into Don't Tell Mama on restaurant row after the shows. It's a tiny cabaret bar that many of the musical casts frequent (and perform at) and there's every chance you'll be served by a future Broadway star, marking time until their big break comes up. Don't miss Madison Square Garden for the Knicks if you're a sporting fan (we'll help you get tickets by the way), the atmosphere is incredible, and if you're a book lover head to the legendary Strand book store at 12th and Broadway. It boasts over 18 miles of rare, out of print and used books.'

What we have done for members in New York
- Organised trapeze lessons on the harbour front, as attempted by Carrie in Sex and the City.
- Arranged art-focused tours of galleries and museums, and city walks led by professors and specialists, for members looking to see a different side of the city.
- Booked Christmas dinner and found babysitters over the Christmas period.
- Arranged the delivery of flowers, chocolates and even pudding to a member's hotel room at very short notice.
- Booked ahead for dinner at STK and Le Bernardin, and matched with nearby pre-dinner drinks. Booked ahead for booths in exclusive speakeasy PDT.
What we can’t do
- Perform miracles on 34th street, or on any other street for that matter.

Set your sights
We know America's most frenetic hub inside out and can give you expert advice on the attractions worth seeing. Obvious musts include the iconic Statue of Liberty, whose crown has recently been reopened. Rather than catch the Staten Island Ferry, opt for the Circle Line tour; it spends longer on the water and you get better views of Midtown and Lady Liberty herself. Stroll Central Park, photograph the Meatpacking District, take in a show on Broadway and head home both happily tired and strangely energised.

Seize the day
Take control and see New York the way you want to.
Morning: Margot Patisserie on the Upper West Side is not only good to look at but has flaky croissants to nibble with good, strong coffee. Wrap up, get more coffee to go and stroll over to Central Park to swoon, wander, people-watch and ride the carousel.
Lunch: Head down to East Houston Street for seriously stacked pastrami sandwiches at Katz Delicatessen. It's time for your When Harry Met Sally 'I'll have what she's having' moment.
Afternoon: Work your way along Fifth Avenue but concentrate on the big brands' shops as well as smaller, cutting-edge boutiques.
Spa: At the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa at 691 Fifth Avenue at 54th Street they do a fantastic olive oil pedicure. It involves an exfoliating scrub, moisture mask and massage cream and you can feel the miles walked becoming a distant memory.
Dinner: If you feel like celebrating, wood-panelled Le Bernardin is firmly positioned in the theatre district and it's the exceptional seafood that has landed it such a reputation (oh, and three Michelin stars). Try the whole red snapper baked in a rosemary-and-thyme crust. The service is impeccable and a jacket is required.
Show: Broadway is now conveniently right on your doorstep, with some of the brightest lights of the acting world. Dive in.
Nightcap: Members of the cast at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre and others sometimes congregate at Whiskey Blue in the W Hotel on Lexington Avenue at 49th Street for a post-performance tipple. Recently given a swish redesign, it has been serving stylish cocktails to NYC's jet set for 11 years.
